 CARBON FIBRE RECORD CLEANING BRUSH - Carbon fibre brushes have two major advantages over the more common felt-faced variety. Firstly, the extremely fine fibres reach right to the bottom of the groove, dislodging dirt which the ordinary brush will not even contact. Secondly, carbon fibre conducts electricity and will discharge the static electricity which builds up on a vinyl disc as it is being played.
This brush is supplied with an optional wire which should be connected to a local earth point (usually on the back of the pre-amplifier) to further aid release of the static charge.
Personal-CD recommends the use of a carbon fibre brush in preference to any other type.

 LARGE HOLE ADAPTOR FOR 45 RPM RECORDS ('SPIDERS') - For a while, many 45 RPM single and extended play records were supplied with a large centre hole. These adaptors fit in the hole and allow the record to be used on a standard turntable spindle. They are no longer manufactured and extremely difficult to find.
Personal-CD has been fortunate to locate a quantity of brand new Duotone adaptors and this is possibly the last chance you will have for buying these items.

 CD SHIELD - Damage to the label side of a CD is not possible to repair and usually destroys the disc entirely. Strangely enough, commercially supplied discs are usually more vulnerable to this type of damage than those recorded at home. The latter often have a paper label affixed to them and this provides considerably more protection than a layer of printing ink ever could.
CD Shields consist of a tough, thin, clear, self-adhesive plastic 'label' which is permanently stuck to the label side of the disc. They provide an extremely high degree of protection to the more vulnerable face of a CD.
